Individuals interested in the Waverly Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department are encouraged to complete an application for membership. Volunteers are encouraged to attend Fire Department meetings every Monday at 7pm at the Fire Station.
Basic requirements for candidates:
- high school graduate or equivalency
- at least 19 years of age
- good health and physical condition
- no felony conviction (we will conduct a background check and drug test)
- valid driver’s license
- must become CPR certified within 1 year
- must be willing to attend at least 10% of calls and/or meetings each year
Training (paid by Fire Department):
- CPR Certification
- EMT Training
- Fire Fighter 1 Training
- Fire School Training (annual, 16 hours)
- Weekly/Monthly required in house/on the job trainings
- Many other training opportunities
How to apply:
- Call and leave a message for the Fire Chief at the Fire Station 402-786-3055
- Stop by the City Office between the hours of 8 am-4:30 pm for an application 14130 Lancashire
- Come to the Fire Station 141st St & Hwy 6, Monday evenings between 7-8 pm
- Complete the WFR Volunteer Application and return it to any of the above locations or email it to the fire chief.
