The City of Waverly participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) which allows area residents to purchase affordable flood insurance. Any resident may purchase flood insurance through this program. Participating in this program requires regulating all development in the floodplain. A Floodplain Development Permit is required prior to ANY development. Applications for Floodplain Development permits are available from the Zoning Department.

Flood Warning System
Flooding is most likely to occur in the rainy months between April to August. Residents should tune into their local radio and TV stations for weather updates. The following stations will broadcast local weather warnings:
