City Council is the only board for the city that is elected. All are other boards and committees are appointed by the city.
To be appointed, simply express interest in the board to a city council member, the city administrator, the mayor, or contact the board chair.
The Mayor recommends people to the council and the council then reviews the Mayor’s recommendation. Board members are appointed at the first council meeting in December. The only exception to this is in the event of a board member resigning.
